During my tenure at an industrial unit, I served as a CAD designer for over a year. My role encompassed a range of tasks, with a primary focus on translating architectural concepts into practical shop drawings. These drawings were vital for facilitating seamless communication between architects and executive workers.
My responsibilities involved the transformation of 2D architectural layouts into detailed 3D shop drawing drafts. Through this process, I ensured that the plans were not only easy to comprehend but also accurately represented the intended construction. This necessitated meticulous checks for errors and adjustments to plan dimensions.
One noteworthy project I contributed to was the shop drawing of steel structures for indoor and outdoor pools within a lavish villa complex in Lavasan. The undertaking exposed me to the intricate world of structural elements and provided a platform to enhance my design skills using Solidworks. This experience was an opportunity to delve into engineering plans, collaborate with fellow engineers, and oversee the various stages of project implementation.
An additional valuable experience stemmed from my work with sheet metal parts in Solidworks. I was involved in preparing layouts for sheet bending workshops, a task that deepened my understanding of bending sheet metals and honed my ability to design sheets to align with bending requirements. This hands-on experience extended to working with laser cut workshops, allowing me to explore the process of cutting metal sheets using laser technology. The exposure to these industrial units facilitated meaningful interactions and exchanges of knowledge.
My time as a CAD designer was a remarkable journey of growth. Not only did it grant me insights into the practical side of architectural designs, but it also enabled me to cultivate skills in structural design, Solidworks proficiency, and effective communication with fellow engineers. The experience was a comprehensive lesson in translating concepts into practical implementations and collaborating within an industrial environment.
